Veneer
A thin sheet of wood of uniform thickness produced by peeling, slicing, or sawing.
Solid wood
Piece of wood of 5 mm or more which is neither hollow, veneered or composed of a mix of species.
Leather grain split
The outer (wool or hair) layer of a hide or skin that has been split into two or more layers.
Wax pull up type leather
A grain surface which has been lightly buffed to remove blemishes and then more or less restored by application of various finishes.
Microfiber
A fabric made of fine synthetic fibers tightly woven and waterproof which looks like silk.

A tongue projecting from the end of a piece of timber which, with the mortise into which it fits, constitutes a mortise-and-tenon joint.
Mortise
A groove at the end of a piece of timber which, with the tenon into which it fits, constitutes a mortise-and-tenon joint.
Fire-resistant padding
Padding which is resistant to destruction by fire and almost unburnable.
