Since 1942, Baronet has evolved in the furniture world, first as a manufacturer of school and government furniture and then, from the sixties, as a residential furniture manufacturer and distributor. When I became President and Creative Director, in the late eighties, I strengthened Baronet’s mission by deciding to focus even more on design and branding. This mission became offering the best quality residential furniture design at an affordable price. The long tradition of working with designers that began as early as the late fifties was then reinforced by the creation of Studio Baronet, an in-house designers’ team.

We started selling design.

Our mission was first accomplished through manufacturing and subcontracting our designs in Canada. In order to maintain our mission, we stopped manufacturing in 2008, as producing in North America was no longer competitive, and we decided to license our products to the best retailers and manufacturers in the world. For the past three decades, Baronet has been selling its design under its name and under private labels to major retailers and specialized stores such as ABC, Blomingdale’s, Macy’s, Crate and Barrel, Habitat, Jensen Lewis (USA), La Galerie du Meuble, Maison Corbeil (Canada) and AATI (UAE), to name a few.
