THE TIPPING POINT IS REACHED
In the 1990s, Baronet conquers the American market with a contemporary furniture style called Life Style. This type of furniture was previously available only on the European market and, even there, the products offered lacked the functionality North American consumers were looking for.
In these years, a new generation of furniture retailers arrives on the scene, demanding a mid-scale to up-scale line of products; Baronet successfully capitalizes on this new demand in contemporary furniture, launching a series of collections that quickly become favorites and set Baronet at the forefront of its market.
In 1991, Baronet exhibits for the first time at the Milan Furniture Show and, ironically, it’s from there, and not through its permanent showroom in the United States, that Baronet starts to tap into the North American market, dealing with the top players on the market at the time, such as Bloomingdale’s, Conran’s Habitat, Crate and Barrel, to name a few.
After the exhibition in Milan, Baronet’s furniture becomes available in France, in Belgium, in Great Britain and in the United Arab Emirates.
Baronet is at the Cologne Furniture Show for the first time in 1992.
A number of factory expansions, equipment upgrades and partnerships with expert cabinetmakers allow the company to meet the strong surge in demand.
Baronet Studio is established in 1995 to ensure a succession in terms of design. What was before entrusted to external designers becomes the pride of Baronet, which, from this point on, trains its own team of creative designers. These innovative talents develop original collections for the company, under the supervision of Ivan Lacroix, President and Creative Director.
